Hidden Art's hard work over eight outings at 100% Design has been rewarded with the 100% Design/Blueprint award for the Best Contribution to 100% Design in September 2005, cementing our reputation as a respected platform for designer-makers.

 

Our showcase included furniture, textiles, ceramics, lighting and interior products from 17 London-based designer-makers and two from Hidden Art Cornwall, a franchise of Hidden Art offering services to designer-makers in Cornwall.

 

The award is designed to reward the company that, in the opinion of the judges, made the most creative impact at 100% Design. The judges felt that Hidden Art summed up the spirit of 100% Design by celebrating the diverse work of emerging designers, while the stand was collectively outstanding with each product allowed to shine individually.

 

This is the first year that the graphic design was conceived and executed by Hidden Art’s own team. The concept was based on a jigsaw theme, where each designer-maker is represented by a unique jigsaw piece, fitting together to form a coherent whole. The designer-makers’ work was displayed to its fullest advantage with a simple yet elegant stand design by Marc Younger.

 

Dieneke Ferguson, chief executive of Hidden Art, said: “We see this award as public validation of the contribution Hidden Art makes to the design community. It is recognition of how far we have come since the first time we exhibited at 100% Design back in 1995, with the invaluable support of our funders and partners.”
