HIDDEN ART HEADS TO MILAN!
Milan’s Superstudio 13 highlights work by 7 leading London designers as part of the Milan Furniture Fair: 11 - 14 April 03
For the second year running Hidden Art will have a presence at Europe’s largest and most respected design events – the Milan Furniture Fair (11 to 14 April 2003).
For six days, Milan, the capital of design hosts the Salone del Mobile. This annual furniture fair spreads across the whole of the city attracting 2,000 exhibitors, from around the world, displaying the latest cutting-edge designs in the furniture and interiors industry.
Mazorca Projects (the business support agency) will be taking seven East London to the fair and promoting their work under the collective banner of ‘Hidden Art’. The Hidden Art showcase is being highlighted at Superstudio 13 as part of ‘Zona Tortona’. This is one of the most important fringe areas in Milan - most famous for Superstudio Piu (the venue used by Cappellini).
All the designers exhibiting are part of Mazorca Projects’ Design and Manufacture Project, which enables participants to develop prototypes with the aim of full production. They are: bdm Design - contemporary furniture and interior accessories, Dominic Crinson - digital ceramic tiles, wallpaper and vinyl flooring, Damdesign- furniture, lighting and accessories, Andrew Davies - furniture and product design, Frank - furniture and interiors design practice, Corinna Julnes - lighting and furniture, François Lefranc - furniture, lighting and accessories.
Mazorca Projects’ mission is to promote East London design on a global level; therefore Milan provides a great opportunity to develop links with manufacturing companies and to generate further international opportunities for Hidden Art designer-makers.
