HIDDEN ART OPPORTUNITIES
Hidden Art Curated at Hidden Art Cornwall Design Fair
Deadline: 27 May.
In
2008, submission for Hidden Art Curated is open to all members of Hidden
Art London, as well as Hidden Art Cornwall.
Hidden Art Curated is a selected
exhibition which presents contemporary design in an unusual context, the
historic rooms of Cornwall's Godolphin House. This exciting exhibition has
been incredibly well received at the Design Fair in previous years, with a
daily audience of at least 1000 visitors passing through the house. In
2007, the Crafts Council commissioned work from nine designer-makers,
responding to the history and context of Godolphin House.
In 2008, for what is likely to
be the final Hidden Art Curated in Godolphin House prior to a long restoration
period, Hidden Art Cornwall has invited five guest curators to curate
a room each in Godolphin House, using work by members of Hidden Art and Hidden
Art Cornwall. The curators are: Catherine Gibbard/Newlyn Gallery and
the Exchange, Anna Hart/Collective Studio (interior designer responsible
for Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant,) Katherine Smith/Cornwall Design
Forum, Judit Bodor, leader of MA curating at Dartington College
of Arts (now part of University College Falmouth), and a schools
project with students from Helston and Liskeard sixth form college.
How to apply
Designer-makers can nominate up
to six pieces of their work for inclusion in Hidden Art Curated. Complete
and return the application form with a CD of images presenting the
work you would like considered.
