Olympic Pin Design
Deadline:
5pm, Friday 22 August. An opportunity has arisen for a qualified
designer to assist a Licensee to design 1,000 lapel pins for the London 2012
Olympic Games.
Creative
Connexions is a commercial programme based at the University of the Arts London.
Initially funded by the UK government, their mission is to help UK creative
businesses take advantage of the emerging business opportunities in China and
India.
Appointed
by one of the Licensees of the 2012 London Organising Committee of the Olympic
Games (LOCOG), Creative Connexions have been charged to act as its sole agency
to recruit one highly qualified design consultant for the above purpose.

Craft +
Innovation International CongressCraft +
Innovation, the second International Congress about Craft, will be held in
Toledo, Spain, on October 24th and 25th, 2008.
The Congress
is being promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and
the government of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha. It is
organized by the Spanish Foundation for Innovation in Crafts, organism
dependant from the General Direction of Small and Medium Enterprise Politics.
Studio Space for Rent N1A Hidden Art member has recently
taken over a lease(together with a fellow designer), of a studio/shop/cafe in
Southgate Road (N1). Table space will be available to rent in the back studio (to
share with three other designers).

Furniture Design Awards 2009The Furniture Design Awards return for
2009, with categories for Students, Young Designers and Open Entry. With cash
prizes and recognition up for grabs, the competition is run by Singapore
Furniture Industries Council.

Students Category
Open to full-time students from educational
institutions in ASEAN countries ( Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,
Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam)
Young Designers Category
Open to participants from the Asia Pacific region,
aged 35 years and below as of 1 March 2009
Open Category
Open to participants from all over the world, on a
company basis, with entries that have been manufactured and launched
commercially in the market.

Prototype Competition
IDS invites independent designers and studios to submit creative
concepts not currently in production for furniture, lighting, textiles,
products and accessories to the Prototype Competition/Exhibition.
Successful Prototype participants will be promoted in an exhibit
display in the centre of Studio North during the Interior Design Show at the
Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, February 5-8, 2009. Selected participants will
be listed in the IDS show guide and website and promoted to Canadian and
international media.

is a major showcasing event that provides London based fashion with an
affordable means to promote their collections and brand identity to retail
