Innovative Routes to Market Forum

"Collaborations for a Global Market"
 
The first forum, Collaborations for a Global Market, aims to offer everyone a glimpse of what 2008 has in store for Level 2 and Innovative Routes to Market members.
 
This event is open to everyone although numbers are limited and participation will be on a first come, first served basis. Please refer to the programme details found at www.hiddenartlondon.co.uk/irtm, or see the booking form at www.hiddenartlondon.co.uk/irtmregistration.
 
The deadline for registration is 2pm, Thursday 28 February.
 

 
Hidden Art at 100% Design 2008 & 100% Futures Competition
18-21 September 2008
 
Hidden Art stand at 100% Design - Application deadline: 10am, 27 March 2008
 
Applications are now open to London members wishing to exhibit work on the Hidden Art stand at 100% Design. See www.hiddenartlondon.co.uk/100percent  for full details.
 
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for our stand you can enter the 100% Futures Competition or apply for a Bursary to have your own stand.
 

 
One-to-One Funding Consultancy Session
 
11 March, 10am – 5pm
 
All London Level 2 members are eligible for a one to one consultancy session (one per calendar year only). Sessions are one hour long and focus on Funding with Keith Benson.
Keith will offer advice on accessing finance, grants and funding, who to approach for money
and how, tips for writing funding applications as well as the Access to Finance Scheme.

More sessions with Keith are available throughout the year. Sessions are also available with Femke Teunen (who will talk about selling) and Marion Gillet (Product Development).
 

 
Further opportunity with UBS investment Bank 1-2-1
 
Open to Hidden Art Level 2 Innovative Routes to Market members.
 
We have a very exclusive opportunity for 6 designer-makers (within no more than a 15 minute drive from Liverpool Street station) to benefit from advice from UBS Investment Bank. This is planned for Thursday 13 March 2008.
 
A team of 10 industry experts from UBS Investment Bank will be split into three groups. Their intention is to visit 6 designer-makers between them to offer support and advice on reviewing product-selling and assessing how to optimize revenue streams and reduce costs, focusing specifically on pricing and revenue structures. These visits will be scheduled either in the morning or the afternoon and will last two hours. Advice will be provided at the end of the visit.
 
To participate, please email amy@hiddenart.co.uk with the details about the products that you would like reviewed. You should include:
·         Background information about you, your product/ service.
·         Wholesale & retail prices, cost of materials, "best sellers" and income figures.
Deadline to participate is Friday 29 February and you will be advised whether you are selected for a visit no later than Wednesday 5 March.
 

 
Milan Accommodation Forum
 
For those who need accommodation during Milan Furniture Fair this year, we have established an online forum allowing you to network and team up with other designer-makers. If you need someone to share with, know of good accommodation, or are completely at a loss where to stay, get online and start sharing.

The Hidden Art E-Shop’s next product assessment is taking place on 14 March. Ideal products for this period will be along a Spring/Summer theme.

Making Factories at the Barbican
 
Hidden Art members, in association with Hidden Art, are holding Making Factories during the Do Something Different weekend, 8-9 March.

UK Designers and Designer-Makers like Helen Rawlinson, Barley Massey and WEmake will be taking part, helping you to create your own designs and crafty items all weekend. For more details visit www.hiddenartlondon.co.uk/news.
 

 
New E-Shop Criteria
 
Current and future E-Shop participants should keep their eyes peeled for the new E-Shop selection criteria. The E-shop team are currently working hard on the new documents, which will apply to both existing and new products on the site.  When ready they will be made available at www.hiddenartlondon.co.uk/eshopinfo.

Part Time Administrator
 
Part time arts administrator for fledgling designers collective in Clarence Mews, E5.

Would be responsible for taking on a central organising role dealing with events, publicity, website & fund raising etc for a group of about 10 designers/craftspeople. No premises provided so a local person would be ideal.

Ceramics on Offer

Camden and Islington Bursaries
 
Innovation Central award bursaries to help innovative businesses in Camden and Islington to grow and prosper. You can apply for an award of up to £3,500 towards the cost of developing and implementing your business plan.
 
There are deadlines each quater, rolling throughout the year.
 
12 bursary awards are made each year. They select only the highest calibre of applicant for this funding and the emphasis is on high-growth businesses, which will create new jobs and business opportunities within Camden and Islington. Your application documentation will be carefully vetted to ensure clear validation of your credentials, the commercial potential of your business idea, and your commitment and determination to succeed.

Semi retail ground floor studio, with large window onto Clerkenwell Road coming available from 1st April 2008. 
 
Studio 3, 21 Clerkenwell Green is approximately 175 sq ft and costs £597.40 per month. 
Additional costs are telephone, electricity & lightbulbs, public liability insurance and rubbish bags.
