Charles Trevelyan

Arcipelago
Archipelago
After a very early press breakfast at this year’s House and Garden Fair, Hidden Art caught up with Charles Trevelyan, who had just been named joint runner-up in the Laurent-Perrier Design Talent Award.

Charles, how does it feel to be runner up in this award?
I think it is too early in the morning to say…

What is next on your schedule?
The next major event is exhibiting in September at a design studio we set up last year, and showing at the Design Museum. Generally speaking, I am working on developing a few new pieces.

We have seen the Archipelago table around in black and white for a while now, do you plan to release it any other colours?
I had planned to show it in different colours, but the response is that people want it in black or white. It can be made in any colour, but for the purpose of exhibiting it makes sense to be in those two.

What is coming up for you in terms of prototypes?
I have a couple of lighting pieces for Heals, which will probably be around for September or October. I’ve also got some smaller furniture pieces that I am looking to put into production along with some little bits and pieces to do.
