Austria’s current design trends have developed from the huge impact made by the earlier generations of designers. The main influence however comes from the Austrian mindset. Design comes from the minds of architects. Industrial design and engineering precision is utmost on the agenda and Swiss design is revered. Many of Austria’s designers have either studied or are currently working abroad.  There are few associations, which are promoting the work of Austria’s young designers overseas such as Austria design now. There appears to be a culture of looking back when it comes to design but things are set to change…
