Australia and New Zealand both have emerging new design scenes. Australia has benefited more from designers with significant international reputations, such as Marc Newson and Ken Cato, who have inspired a younger generation to compete on the international platform. The relatively high standard of education and many support networks has really encouraged the creative industry to flourish.

Australia has joined the international design world with the Sydney Design Week  taking place annually in August. It promotes the work of not only Australia’s own Young Blood and established designers at the Australian Design Awards but also that of the international design market. There are many regional art and craft galleries, please see below for links.

Australia’s rising contemporary architectural studios, which can be seen at the RAIA have caused quite a stir and it wont be long before designers follow suit.
