UK Design Fair: Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 November 2008
Open Studios: Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 December 2008
The Hidden Art Open Studios event, now in its 15th year, is aimed at helping designer-makers make sales direct to public in the lead up to Christmas, by opening the doors to their studios, or taking part in a Hidden Art Fair.
Hidden Art promotes the event widely through its Open Studios Map which locates the studios, so the public can navigate itself round the east End and discover local design and making talent.
There have been some changes to the format of Open Studios in 2008, but the event maintains its East London roots, and also offers opportunities for ALL Hidden Art designer-maker members, throughout London, Cornwall and the UK.
The Event splits itself in two this year, concentrating on a UK Design Fair (at the Truman Brewery) on the first weekend, and shifting focus to Open Studios (East and North East London) including the East London Design Show, on the second weekend. With Open Studios Participants being encouraged to hold activities / demonstrations / workshops to create a festival feel to the event.
