Ryan Frank’s Inkuku Chair, taken from the Zulu for chicken, combines traditional South African craft techniques and a modern approach to recycling and sustainability.

Consisting entirely of Sainsburys shopping bags and recycled aluminium, the Inkuku took its inspiration from a South African ornamental chicken.

The chair reminds us to look at what is around us and make something out of the materials which are already there, instead of consuming more raw materials.

Considering Ryan’s highly visible press profile, the chair goes a long way towards promoting sustainability as a whole.
