Sital Punja


Sital Punja formed Sari UK Ltd in 2002 with just £500. Sari is a design label that marries high fashion, recycling and international aid. From traditional Indian clothing donated by thousands of Indian women in the UK Sari creates cutting-edge designs. The aim of the company is to provide financial support for children's charities in developing countries. Sital is also involved in workshops and seminars about social enterprise, has become a role model for Asian women and ambassador for social enterprise as a board member of Social Enterprise London.



Phillip Charlesworth

Forum 2007

Philip Charlesworth has recently been appointed as Head of the London Environment Centre, an environmental consultancy arm of the London Metropolitan University. Having obtained his first Degree in
Environmental Studies he joined the London Borough of Barnet Environmental Health Department. He then joined Tarmac Quarry Products as a waste manager before returning to academia full-time to obtain an MSc in Environmental and Ecological Sciences, whereby he took the position of Area Waste Regulation Officer for Surrey County Council. He then joined the Environment Agency, specialising in waste pollution control and regulation.  Studying law part-time he qualified as a barrister and was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn. Prior to his present position he was Environmental Business Development Manager for the Rubber and Plastics Research Association before establishing his own environmental consultancy business, specialising in providing clients with solutions to environmental legislation issues.


Steuart Padwick

Forum 2007

Steuart trained at Parnham, and the Royal College of Art. He first set up as a furniture designer-maker in 1979. As buyer for the Conran Shop he sourced products across Europe and set up trading links with China.
2000 - launched Padwick Design (www.designbar.com/rs/search_details.php?id=35). His designs frequently feature in publications from Living Etc, FX and Elle Deco to The Times and the Evening Standard.
2004 - launched Benchmark Furniture (www.benchmark-furniture.com) for Terence Conran and Sean Sutcliffe.
2005 - launched www.Designbar.com – now with membership across 33 countries worldwide. First Designbar.com forums will be held with the support of Apple at their Regents Street store in London on 18th and 20th September 2007.
