Speakers: Metropolitan Works - Digital Manufacturing Centre. How digital technology can benefit design practices. Michael Haas (Ivo Textiles) will discuss the rise in demand for customised and flexible products. Looking at the printed textile sector, Michael will explain how customised manufacture can fulfil this demand. Margaret Pope (Materials Consultant) will talk about her work as a professional materials consultant and the importance of networking with manufacturers and suppliers.

SEMINAR 1 - Digital Technology in Design
Cressida Granger (Mathmos) will discuss how Mathmos uses digital technology in their product development.
Two leading designers, Assa Ashuach and Tomoko Azumi (TNA Design Studio), will talk about their work as research fellows at London Metropolitan University.
SEMINAR 2 - Protecting and Financing Designs
Margaret Briffa (Founder, Briffa & Co. Solicitors) will summarise the steps designers can take to protect their work from being copied and retain value in their business. John Perry (London Metropolitan University) and Lee Woodall (Manufacturing Advisory Service) will discuss where and how a design practice can find financial support for their business.
