Mark Holmes
 
A designer with diverse talents and an eclectic background in the arts, Mark Holmes has achieved success and acclaim in many creative areas. After studying painting at The Slade School of Art in London, Holmes began a career as an independent artist working specifically in extruded aluminium and creating sculptural pieces that challenged the classic divisions between art and design.
 
In 1997 Holmes opened his first London showroom where he showcased his own work as well as curating exhibitions of emerging international artists and designers. Together with Sebastian Wrong, Holmes formed the multifaceted creative organisation ‘The Lane’ in September 2003. The organisation has produced a collection of bespoke design products, graphic identities and exhibition designs for a diverse range of clients. A range of elegant lamps; ‘Seam’ designed by Holmes in his sophisticated signature metalworking technique and produced by German Manufacturer E15 was recently awarded the prestigious IF-Product-Design award and the 2004 Red Dot award. Holmes working relationship with Sebastian Wrong has been pivotal in the conception of Established & Sons. As a founder member and director, Holmes exercises his skills as a designer whilst also being active in the general development and creative direction of the company
