A graduate of the Royal College of Art,Shirley-Ann produces a range of hand made woven and knittedcontemporary artefacts. She combines unexpected textures and coloursusing high quality natural yarns such as filament silk, fine high twistcrêpe yarns and cashmere which have been sourced in the UK. Her workreflects influences and inspiration from the natural world and focuseson the tactile quality of cloth.

Eachpiece is constructed on a floor loom or domestic knitting machine.Finishing or embellishing processes include: felting, shrinking (yarnproperties or chemicals), hand dyeing, embroidering and crochet.

Shirley-Ann’screative philosophy is to maintain consistent originality andinnovation in exploring traditional weave or knit constructions incontemporary ways that form textural surfaces with a visual, sensualand ethereal aesthetic.
