A love of sketching and fabrics prompted the development of Rachael Howards technique of screen-printed drawings, appliquéd fabrics and machine embroidery. Her work includes textiles for wall-hangings, cushions and fabric pictures. She enjoys the spontaneity of the drawings, coloured in with patterned cottons of smooth, shiny pieces of silk, secured in place by machine stitches which enhance surface texture.
