Lynda Spiro designs and produces handtufted rugs, made from 100% New Zealand wool, which are suitable for both floor and wall spaces. These rugs are created from ideas that are based on original artwork which she produces in her studio. This transition to textiles was a natural progression from her painting work, which was abstract and dealt with colour as its main subject. Lynda believes in drawing on colour in nature and translating these colour themes into rugs. Nature has its own way of tempering colour to convey emotion. Rugs need the right colours, textures and design balances to make people comfortable and to integrate all the components of a room. Rugs are a simple, cost effective and versatile way to change the look of an interior. Whether used for practical or decorative reasons, either on the floor or wall hung, their colours and textures will complement any home, office or commercial public space. In collaboration with the registered charity Fine Cell Work, Lynda has introduced needlepoint cushions to complement her rugs. Lynda offers a range of contemporary designs that are available from stock. Alternative colours and sizes for rug and cushion collections can be made to order.
