My ‘Sculptural Fabric Technique’ is a truly unique creation that moves away from the normal traditional 2D form and pushes the boundaries of what fabrics are really capable of. The technique can be adapted for a variety of creatives e.g. wall hangings, instillations, bespoke set pieces for theatre or window displays, interior design, lighting and jewellery pieces.
My recent hand-crafted cream and white curled neck pieces are of reminiscent of swirling wedding cakes, Victorian lace and bejewelled snowflakes. Reverse the colours to stark black with slivers of pearl and white and you can see the sombre austire reflections of Elizabethan ruffles and grand dame collars worn by gothic Empresses.
Using different colours really changes the illusion of my work. My wall hangings of sugar pink and baby blue satins conjure images of the Mad Hatters tea parties treats and sweets.
Due to the technique, it is a constantly developing organic process therefore I am always open to new ways of incorporating my technique in collaboration with other designers and artists. Bespoke commissions can also be ordered to meet customer requirements.
