Kaniez Abdi graduated from The RoyalCollege of Art in 1998, where she studied Constructed Textile Design.Since graduating, Kaniez has been working on a freelance basis,specialising in creating highly individual textiles using embroideryand digital printing techniques which have been used in the area offashion, trend and interiors.

Usingher background in textile design, she develops series of ideas whereshe experiments with different techniques, such as hand sewing, machineembroidery, bonding, heating, dyeing, painting, printing, etc.
   

Kaniezalso uses photography, taking pictures of nature and everydayhappenings. I use photography and develop ideas, through the use ofcomputer manipulation, changing the original image size, colour andabstracting the image, which makes the work individual.

Kaniez’swork is applied in two ways; she works on projects, where shespecialises in providing manufacturers and wholesalers with textiledesign concepts. She also specialises in providing interior designersand architects with innovative textile design products which includeTextile Art, Wall hangings, lampshades, wall lighting, digital printsand soft furnishings for site-specific projects such as hotels,restaurants, bars, corporate receptions and residential properties.
