Designer-maker Helen Minns’ design philosophy embraces the imperfections and uniqueness of natural materials and craft based techniques, a love of drawing and mark-making combined with the modern aesthetic of clean lines and silhouettes. Often inspired by British wildlife and nature, Helen’s work is characterised by a bold and elegant use of colour and placement. Her debut interior collection of light shades and cushions titled 'bird, grass, hare' are hand pigment printed on pure unbleached linen incorporating flocked and foil surfaces. Her current greeting card range depicts her unique free-hand machine embroideries. After training in textile design at Central St. Martin’s, Helen worked as a free lance textile designer and lecturer and established the accessories label ‘Sheridan Minns’ with her friend Kate Sheridan.
