Ruth Greany started her interior accessory brand 'Aurelie Bell' in early 2008 as a way to bring her designs out of the fashion house archive and into the home. She develops all the fabrics on a hand-loom near Spitalfields in London before they are produced in a traditional British silk weaving mill. One-off designs are occasionally hand-woven using unusual yarns and techniques to augment the collection. Inspiration comes from everyday phenomena such as changes in atmospheric light and weather patterns, and the transient colours of nature and the elements. Techniques and patterns are inspired by the passion, dedication and intricate detailing behind Couture fashion fabrics. Prices range from: £20-£400 |
