About Exhibitions Commissions Awards Press Outlets
Previously, an established ikat weaver and dyer of wall and floor art, in 2005 I started a part time MA in Textile Culture at Norwich School of Art and Design..  In September 2007 I was awarded a distinction and my work had been transformed into 3D woven wire structures and 2D laminated metal leaf surfaces, both using patination processes to apply colour.  This work marks the staging posts of a journey between disassociation (the past) and reinvention (the future), edging towards an ending that is always a new beginning.  Elements of alchemy, autobiography and fantasy are seen to emerge and chance plays a role as well.  I am interested in every stage of this transformative process as well as the uncertain territory between the artefact and the artwork. Photography and film have also been useful tools in a multi-faceted approach to my practice.
