Recent graduate of CSM Zoe Kendall is launching her brand new collection ‘Precious Creatures’ in 2008. This collection is inspired by organic forms and surfaces as well living creatures and their desire to interact. Precious stones are replaced by glass eyes and uncut gems which peer with curiousity from sculptural silver jewellery, combining humour with an unassuming elegance of form. The pieces are infused with a playful sense of intrigue and fascination, where rhythmic undulations in surface and intricate textural details represent a more original and naturally beautiful aesthetic. Zoe makes bold rings which twist and curl, or extend across the hand and upwards, contrasting smooth with textured surface finishes. The collection is theatrical and daring, with variations in scale from small rings to large hand, wrist and neck pieces that challenge accepted ideas of what jewellery can be.
