Inspired by the decadent globe trotting that exploded during the 19th and the early 20th century, seraglia also represents a return to the romance and attention to detail of the works made during this time. Folk and tribal art and the east-meets-west culture of the seraglios of Byzantium have also been major inspirations. seraglia couture and vintage jewellery is constructed from a pirate's chest of materials including antique, vintage and Swarovski beads, semi-precious stones and 'one off' accent pieces, all chosen for their beauty, originality, and in many cases, rarity. We combine these with reclaimed and otherwise unwearable old parts, to create new and lasting treasures. seraglia believe that all the earth's resources are precious and that ethical and environmental responsibility should be part of the charm and romance of jewellery. We pride our selves on using antique, old, reclaimed fair trade and unexpected materials to create lasting heirloom pieces. We have also created a small range of affordable limited edition treasures made using renewable materials.
