Biscuit's Renata Manau presents a new collection of hand-blown borosilicate glassware. The material's appeal is its unique surface manipulation during the heating process not possible in more traditional glassware. The Martini Glass, Punchbowl and 2001 Wineglasses attempt to marry design with science in a domestic context. Biscuit's work challenges the customs of form and the usage of materials to re-evaluate everyday products. Renata has a futuristic aesthetic, combining 3D geometry with the mechanics of organic form. |
