Having worked in architecture and run his own interior design consultancy, Doug formed doug harper furniture in 2000 in response to a growing interest shown by London’s design community to his furniture and specialist elements (staircases, lighting systems, canopies, etc.) initially designed for interior architectural projects.
Doug studied at Leicester, Brighton and the Royal College of Art. His pieces have appeared in publications in twelve countries and his LITABLES concept was recently featured in a book, Bright Ideas, published in the UK and soon to be launched in the USA.
All interior work is commissioned.
Clients include MEPC, Ernst & Young, Freshfields and various architectural practices. Usually, clients will see an existing piece and commision a 'new' piece.
