We take great care to observe the changing needs of our clients and the requirements of society at large. Design is a highly diverse area emoting different responses. It can follow a straight forward functional and rigorous engineering approach or, design can lead to more artistic interpretations. Anthony Dickens’ work embodies both ends of the design spectrum; communicating ideas through objects which have an intrinsic personality and identity. We accept commissions from industry and private patrons. The key to a good product is a comprehensive brief developed between client and designer. Anthony Dickens designs are not limited to any particular material, process or technique. Clients include: Red Bull, Audi, Jam Design, Veuve Clicquot, Anglepoise, Doll & 21st Century Communications. Origami Tables The Origami tables are made from powder coated CNC stamped mild steel. The tripod interlocking design is a unique and patented system. On each leg there are two slots, each positioned on a different 3 point plane in space. This makes the joints tighten when a load is placed on the table and will never fall apart. No fixings of any sort are required. The legs come apart easily for storing and reassembly. Contract versions available. height="152" width="260" id="Thumbnail1" alt="Origami Tables " longdesc="The Origami tables are made from powder coated CNC stamped mild steel. Timeline... “Timeline…works by having the numbers move around behind the central bar which indicates the present time. Man commonly views time in terms of a linear past, present and future, always bound to a relentless forward motion. Timeline… is, perhaps, a more honest way of representation than a normal clock with rotating hands”. height="150" width="260" id="Thumbnail2" alt="Timeline..." longdesc="“Timeline…works by having the numbers move around behind the central bar which indicates the present time. Rickshaw "The rickshaw was developed in response to a brief to design a custom peddle powdered vehicle for Veuve Clicquot. They wanted to transport the public, armed with a complementary bottle of champagne for the journey, to and from corporate events in a positive eye catching way. The concept was designed alongside a leading rickshaw engineer and built on an excellent Brox quad frame. A chair and two outdoor pod concepts are due for release later this year". height="198" width="260" id="Thumbnail3" alt="Rickshaw" longdesc=""The rickshaw was developed in response to a brief to design a custom peddle powdered vehicle for Veuve Clicquot. On|Off Exhibition for Doll at the Royal Academy “In its 5th season the entire biannual exhibition was designed by Anthony Dickens. The inspiration came from fashion and how we clothe the human form. A curved rail ensures that the designers can hang their clothes and all will be visible from the doorway. A full length mirror obscures a table so that exhibitors can store essentials out of sight. Lighting was positioned to minimise shadows and create a comfortable balanced light”. height="190" width="260" id="Thumbnail5" alt="On|Off Exhibition for Doll at the Royal Academy" longdesc="“In its 5th season the entire biannual exhibition was designed by Anthony Dickens.
