I create fashion and home accessories such as bags, scarves and cushions are made using luxury, vintage or recycled fabrics and traditional hand-techniques including pleating, layering, cutting, appliqué and quilting. I use these techniques to produce an original look that has the quality and sense of history associated with historic textiles. I trained as a museum curator with a special interest in textile and fashion history. This has had a major impact on how and what I design. I continue to research historical techniques and experiment with the possibilities they hold. I am committed to sustainable practice and use natural and recycled materials wherever possible. I started my professional practice in 2005 after leaving a full-time job in museum education with the V&A. Price range: £30-£100 |
