About

I am interested in the vessel as an abstract sculpural object.

I am concentrating on simple essential forms which sometimes emphasize the relationship between internal and external space or the movement or stillness within the form.

All pieces are hand built and then burnished to achieve a tactile sensual surface. Some recent pieces have incorporated texture thus creating a contrast between rough and burnished surface areas. The distinctive patterning which complements the form is achieved in a carefully organised secondary smoke firing.
