Caroline Raffan Glass

Caroline develops her designs through her love of nature, and is frequently inspired by landscapes, animals, trees, plants and birds. Her work features use of texture, combining imagery and colour to enhance the living space. Caroline includes in her collection items from recycled glass and lamps that can be used with low energy bulbs.

November 2006 – commissioned by Whitehall and Westminster World to make 13 awards in recycled glass (with Ralph Hutchings – photographer and wood designer/maker) for the first Civil Service Awards, sponsored by the Cabinet Office and Ernst and Young, to be presented in November 06.

May 2006 commission to make a presentation dish in recycled glass for London Development Agency/Bywaters Ltd.

November 2005 - winner of competition to design and make 5 awards made from recycled materials, for presentation to outstanding businesses at the Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Awards - www.Londonremade.com

April 2007 – shortlisted for the 2007 British Female Inventors & Innovators Awards - BFIIN awards.

Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network (GWIIN) awards in the Sustainability category, for designing and making awards and products in recycled glass. This event is supported by Equalitec, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), London Metropolitan University, UK Trade & Investment, National Physics Laboratory, London Remade and Business Link London amongst other organisations.
