Case Study - Heals

 

In 2004 Andrew Thompson, Senior Buyer at Heals, in conjunction with Hidden Art, issued his first brief for lighting through the Design for Production strand of the Design Brokerage.

 

Andrew was looking for a price sensitive pendant light utilising a material in a new way, which was both playful and intriguing to the consumer. Peter Ayres Lotus light stood out as something that was simple and elegant and had moved on from the concept stage to almost a finished product idea.

 

The Lotus was appointed to local manufacturer 2PM and since its launch in store has become Heal’s second biggest seller. Lotus has recently been used in the rebrand campaign for Heals.

 

In 2005 Andrew issued his second brief for a mid priced contemporary chandelier, again the competition was strong, Suspend by Charles Trevelyen was chosen for its contemporary twist on the classic chandelier, the design is being produced by Innermost and is still under wraps until its launch in 2006.
